My order finally arrived and I got 3 packs of 2AA and on pack of 2C bulbs. In Walt's Carley Lamp thread I said I'd check the Nexstar 2C version to see if it would fit the AA Mini-Maglite. It won't. The 2C bulb is a T-1½ and the Mini-Mag needs a T-1 size bulb.

Unless the Carley T-1 bulb is brighter it looks like the Nexstar 2AA is as bright as it will get for T-1 bulbs.

Did you or can you check the ma draw on the 2 AA and the 2 C lamps? I would be curious to know if the 2 C is really brighter (most likely more wattage) or if it is the same lamp just in a bigger housing.

I am asking because I modified one of my 2 AA mag's to take T-1 3/4 LED's, so I think I could get the T-1 1/2 in there. If it were brighter it might be worth getting one, although I probably will get one anyway

Unless you say they are the same or really close.

Dave; it gets worse. The T-1 lamps Carley sent me for the 2 AA and 2 AAA Mag Lights will not fit. The glass envelope is too short, about only half as long as it should be, and there is a flange at the end which prevents it going through the hole in the reflector. Even if you open up the hole, the lamp can't be kept centered, as for proper focusing, the lamp would have to be so far forward that only the wires would be touching the hole in the reflector.

I am going to contact Carley and have them try again. Walt

Brock, email or send a private message in that other forum your snail mail to me. I lost it. I can part with one bulb but I want the other to play with. They come 2 to a pack.

I have an old lamp assembly from the first run of Princeton Tec Blast before the xenon lamp assemblies were used. The T-1½ Brinkmann bulb fits that old lamp assembly. Problem is I'm out of Blasts and need to make a run to REI or order a couple of more. My wife is going to kill me.

Walt, parusing the catalog I received a while back it didn't look like Carley had anything to fit the AA/AAA Mini-Maglites. Vacuum or gas filled. I was hoping that changed. Your post doesn't give any encouragement though.

B-2, T-1½, and T-1 bulbs mixed together. (The black reflector is what came in the PT Blast at first. The B-2 bulb next to it with the white base is what was replaced. It's a vacuum bulb and not a xenon bulb. I think the B-2 is the same size as a T-2.)

The Brinkman 2C T-1½ bulb is in the middle

Thanks David, I got the lamp. It is actually ever so slightly dimmer than the Brinkman T1 lamps I have. The two lamps draw almost the same power, 2ma differnt. I am guessing the 2 C lamp and the 2 AA Nextstar are the same element, but differnt size glass envelopes.
