I know there are a couple threads with this one, but none contain a review by someone who actually has used/owns one. I'm looking at picking one up, and have seen a quick youtube or two on the knife but nothing really substantial. One of my concerns is that when you look are the top view of the blade along the spine (which IS fantastically thick right up to the tip), it really looks like there is actual  *space* between the liners/scales and the blade itself where the blade rotates on the pin in order to fold out. If this is the case, I have no idea why that would be at all, and it would be a deal breaker seeing that if everything is not solid, there will eventually be side-play in the blade. The overall design looks a little no frills, and the main appeal to this knife would be to simply have a one-handed opening scandi folder. Willing to overlook the frills, but the blade has to be a solid design, not something just slapped together so someone could say they make a scandi folder. I'm not saying I'm going to baton with this knife on a regular basis, but if the need arises, I want to believe I can do it if need be without funging up the whole knife in the process...

Cheers,

Just recently picked one up and the blade/lockup is very secure. It does look like there is space between the blade and the liners, but only because there are two large bronze washers there. Looking at some other folders I have, these bronze washers seem to be thicker than what what is generally used in a production knife... calipers say 0.020". Only a good thing though?

Overall it's a fantastic knife. It's replacing a Buck Vantage Pro as an EDC and feels like an improvement in every way. I'm not crazy about the exposed edge of the liner on the Curly Birch version I got, but I'm going to be doing a little reshaping of the liners and making my own scales shortly anyway. The version with a bolster apparently has full liner coverage, and I think that is the way to go if you aren't interested modding the knife.
