Anybody have any experience with Nowell of Sheffield, England's version of the Fairbairn-Sykes commando knife? Are they a useable knife still or have they been reduced to a showpiece or wall hanger. I just love the military grade stuff because it seems to be pretty indestructable.:)

Hello...here's a thread I stumbled upon while doing some reading on the forums not long ago and I found it very interesting. I thought I had some good knowledge of the Fairbarn-Sykes and the Nowell reproductions, but I discovered from my reading it was pretty rudimentary. Perhaps you have done a search and already read these posts.....I apologize if I am sending to a thread you have researched.
This will take you to page two, but you will probably want to start at the beginning :http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=397717&page=2&highlight=Sykes
