I am fairly new to this sub-forum. The last few years has seen me come-back to traditional styled knives after carrying Spydercos for a number of years. My current EDC is either a Northfield Barlow or Sunfish both in stag.

Anyways, I am originally from Alaska but now living in New Zealand. As we have been exploring around here we have noticed that many small towns have an antique shop. Some are better than others and the next town over has one that is simply awesome. I has a huge quality selection and the prices are dirt cheap compared to what you see for good quality antiques in the US. This particular shop has an entire CASE filled with older slipjoints.

I did not get to look at them closer the last time I was there as the wife was with me and I didn't want to get the evil eye like I do when I start looking at knives. She is in class all day Friday and I have the day off so I might head over and take a closer look:)

I am guessing that many of them will be of British or European origin and I am not very familiar with the older brands from the UK. Does anyone out there have any recommendations of brands to keep an eye out for?

George Wostenholm with IX*l trade mark, Joseph Rodgers is another well known name. Two of the oldest knife makers based in Sheffield England. I'm sure there will be more added by others.
