I picked up an issue of Shotgun News magazine at Wal_mart today, and in it I found an ad from I.M.A. (International Military Antiques inc.), for those of you who are familiar witht heir ad's it was the standard couple pages with a ton of different stuff, and I almost overlooked the most interesting thing (to me at least) once, but just as I was about to turn the page it almost jumped out at me.
A little picture of a fire axe...except instead of appearing to be full axe sized, it appears to be hatchet sized.
The ad read : "British Fire Brigade Axes. Recently surplused these are the standard issue hand fire axes with hard rubber grips that were first adopted in the 1920's. Dated mostly in the 1980's these are in excellent condition with original markings." and the price is $59.95.
Well these are nice looking, with a wicked long spike on the back end...well my devious (read: slightly evil and pretty demented) mind suddenly flashed with images...and basically this axe is something I have been looking for...a decent, strong, hatchet sized axe that has some CQC ability.
But before I run off an order one (ok well I'm probably going to anyway, but thats just cause I am the way I am) I wanted to ask the ppl who might know if they are indeed like I hope...
Are they strong, tough and decent quality?
Anyone here have one? (guess thats key to answering my questions) Whats your opinion of it?
Is it worth $59.95?
Thanks all...
