Does anyone here own/wear the British woodland DPM windproof smock? can you recommend it? why or why not.
trying to decide if it is worth buying as a main wear outdoors jacket for NC. pics would be cool too.
thanks for your input.

Have an old woodland pattern smock that's completely worn out got at least 15 years out of it. Bought this one last year don't know how cold it get's in NC But I think it's a great shell lot's of pockets waterproof ,windproof don't see how you can go wrong with one. Just wish there was a practical way to dye them black hard to do because of the treatment.

it snows here in Charlotte, and during the winter/fall 40-60 temps are the norm. and during the summer we have LOTS of thunderstorms. would it work as a basic rain jacket?

Sure 40 60 must be nice can get to 40 below here. Wore mine in rain sleet and snow no problems.

DPM looks wierd in desert pattern, or does it look better in person than that photo. does your have a hood tie down? like a thing where you roll up the hood and lash it down somehow?

Not my picture I think it would look better darker I can live with it as is one of these days gonna try to dye it black. Hood rolls up and you hold it in place with a button.
