Just got the bark river PSK & NECKER ...Both are well mad .

The work on the psk is great but the blade /handle smaller than expected.

I guess I should have checked size b/4 order .. easy to carry for sure

Question is what would be about larger 1 -2" overall and still EDC

Necker handle is almost perfect maybe 1/2 " more. blade could be + 1"

I have the PSK as well. It is small, so that it can be stashed as part of a survival kit. I don't see it as an EDC or user.
I prefer to have a full size handle, regardless of blade length. For example, the Barkies that have the Highland Special, Woodland size handles feel like a "real" knife to my hand.
You should check You Tube for videos of the knives that you are considering. Sometimes you can see them in use, next to other knives, and in someone's hand.
I find the pics on TKC and KSF to be a limited view of the Barkies, out of context to anything with perceptable size.
I can only discuss knives that I own, and have held. I carry the STS-3 quite a bit, and the Custom Highland Special. Those have handles that fill my large size palm. They are not the biggest handles, but as far as a hammer grip goes, they fit my hand.

That seems to be a common complaint on many BRKT knives, not just the small ones. I've got one or two mid-size barkies (4-5 inch blades) which I wish had a bit more handle on them, but on knives this small I think its a fair trade off. YMMV.

I will say the bravo necker is just a little small not bad -it's a necker = small

The PSK with MidnightTiger G-10 is really beautiful ...need to find similar knife about 2" bigger

I've been EDCing a BRKT Mini Northstar that I picked up here on the forum about a month ago. It is near perfect for front pocket carry.:D

Mini North Star:
Overall Length: 7.125 Inches
Blade Length: 3.4 Inches
Blade Steel: 12C27 S.S. @ 58rc
Steel Thickness: .118 Inch
Weight: 2.9 Ounces

PSK:
Overall Length: 5.150 Inches
Blade Length: 2.175 Inches
Cutting Edge: 2 Inches
Blade Steel: 12C27 @ 58rc
Steel Thickness: .090 Inch
Weight: 1.75 Ounces

I have a PSK and Necker as well. For me, they are a great size to EDC, but I just bought a Rising Wolf and I'm very pleased. It fits in my Pocono pocket sheath nicely, sitting in my front pocket comfortably without printing.

I'd definitely suggest the Rising Wolf. It's got classic lines too, so it doesn't look spooky.

Also, like others have said, the Lil' Canadian and Mini North Star are great choices. I bought a Lil' Canadian but I won't get it until I go home in December.

It's slightly shorter but beefier than the Rising Wolf. Ideally, you should consider thickness just as much as length for fixed blade EDC. The Rising Wolf and Mini North Star are the thinnest 7" knives by BRKT. Also take a look at the Woodland Special, which is also beefier like the Lil' C.

Pics soon, btw! Just busy right now!

I heart my Rising Wolf, but the handle sticks too far out of the Pocono sheath for my taste. I have a Micro Drop Point living in mine instead, along with a Leatherman Style CS. The MDP makes for a great small EDC fixed blade. 5.6 inches OAL and 2.25 blade. For comparison, the PSK is 5.15 OAL and 2.175 blade. The extra half inch allows for a full 4-finger grip.

It comes out of the pocono sheath quite a bit, but the retention is solid on mine, and it's very easy to retrieve from my pocket. I don't think I'd feel comfortable carrying it in my City sheath in the back pocket though.

I'll post photos tomorrow hopefully...

That said, I was actually going to mention the Mikro Drop Point. Only 5.6" long, but the MDP has a much thicker stock and slab setup than the other smaller knives.

Check out my comparison photo. Necker next to Mikro Drop Point.

What handles did you guys order?

Denim micarta for the Rising Wolf and tigerstripe G-10 for the Micro.

And here with the Micro in a Pocono sheath and the RW on top:

Any other suggestions for a sheath for the Rising Wolf? I don't like the bushcraft one. Maybe one of the larger pocket sheaths, or something from another maker/company...

drool. I can't wait to shoot some photos tomorrow. Great sheath photo. I hope it helps the OP out!

Oh, and I don't know any other pocket sheaths, but I do want a Kydex for the RW.

I have the KSF Adirondack sheath (similar to the Pocono, but without the cutout), but I have no small fixed blade to live in it at the moment since I traded off my Mini Canadian and Landi PSK.

I'm condsidering a BRK&T Pro Scalpel or Micro Drop point for it, or maybe even a Boker (Krein) Pocket Bowie.

I agree. It's hard to beat the MNS as an EDC.

As an EDC, I like to carry the Woodland Special.

It only measures 7" overall, but it handles and cuts like a much bigger knife.

The Woodland Special is a very nice EDC:thumbup: One tough little knife. I'm looking forward to the upcoming North Star Companion and the Mini Fox River. They look like they are going to be good pocket carry fixed blades:)

some good suggestions North Star , woodland, rising wolf etc.

It'd be nice to see 'em in person ....no where by me .

Not sure what to do with the PSK it's so well made & good looking .

May put it up for sale and go one step larger

What handle did you get?

Try using it some more. You might be pleasantly surprised!

forgot name of handle ..on box at home . Very nice ,last one on site .I will need to put some kind of lanyard to help get knife out of pocono sheath.
I'm learning it seems that 4" handle and a 3" blade is best for me overall =7" total
The necker is close.
I use a Bradley Alias I for EDC ,it's almost perfect .
If anything could be 1/2" more handle
I Guess it's like lots of things , personal preference is important
