I have Bravo 2 with the thumb ramp and being it's a large blade that I use most often for de limbing and chopping cuts the thumb ramp makes sense. I'm now looking at it's little Brother the Bravo1 and wondering if the thumb ramp is as useful on the more nimble smaller Bravo1?
Your thoughts on the BRK thumb ramp ?

There was some story behind it back when they came out..."cutting notches" I seem to recall.

It seems enough people just ground them off to make BRK realize they would have to accommodate the widespread user error and offer versions without it. :D

I've been looking at this one knife that's pretty pricey and sorta wondering if getting the ramp ground off will look bush league afterwards. What got me thinking about this is if the ramps are mostly something customers would rather not have , then maybe BRK should take note.

I believe, way back when, they eventually offered rampless versions, because of all the folks who didn't want them and had to grind them off, as I said before.

I don't know if they still do.

They do make a rampless version of the Bravo but it seems they are few and far between.

You can get the Bravo series rampless and it in no way affects the knife. In my experience resell is easier when the ramp is removed. BRK will remove the ramp for you at the factory.

I ordered 4 BRK from DLT and in the case with tumb ramps, you can ask them to send it back to the factory to have it removed for FREE.

Ramp removal is a very common request on those, its a free service when you order, just request it in the order comments and we will send it up to Bark river. It looks completely stock after the removal and it does not impact the warranty.
