Anyone have photos of these two knives next to each other? Any thoughts on one vs. the other?

Sorry, no photos as I don't have an Aurora. I do have a Bravo 1 and it is a beast of a knife for its size...similar blade length (the Bravo 1 is .25 of an inch shorter at 4.25 inches compared to the Aurora's 4.5), but the Bravo 1 is .215 of an inch thick compared to .170 for the Aurora, and 7.375 ounces in weight compared to 6 ounces for the Aurora. Both are made from A2 steel with a Rockwell hardness around 59...

Thoughts automatically follow from the size comparison...the Bravo 1 would seem to be capable of standing up to heavier use.

They have rather different intended uses so their designs aren't all that comparable. The Aurora is designed as a woods knife with finesse and care in it's use, the Bravo as a military brute. Certainly there is overlap in their uses, but they're really quite different from each other.

I love the Aurora! Don't own one yet, but one day I will. For now, my Canadian Special fills the bill, but the Aurora is just my style.

Awesome.

Special thanks to Cliff Nieporte!! I think I'll be going with the Aurora. If I need to do heavy work, I'll stick with my HI khukuri or a cheaper blade like the CS Bushman. Aurora is just about perfect for me.

The bravo-1 looks about the same size as the aurora, thats how I like my knives, small but feels big.

Aurora is on the way! Look forward to an in-depth review within a couple of weeks!

Say, Cliff, what are the scales on your Aurora?

You should like that Aurora !!! Good choice.
The handle scales on mine are Black Canvas Micarta...Which scales did you get?

Good assessment ... If I was military I'd take the Bravo ... but I'm just a camper ... gimme an Aurora

Im a camper and I went for the bravo. I just love how the thing fits my hand:)

Different strokes for different folks:)

I have a wet envire recon and an aurora,I like the aurora better with a full tang.Just wish they would do tapered tangs as I love them SO much more.I got a kydex sheath for the aurora so I can wear it in a Mercharness upside down and its a good enough beast for me.

Great Pics Cliff! Also, nice work on the firesteel retainers and scraper, and good refurb on that Aurora sheath!

I really love my Aurora. It's my unquestioned carry knife when I go into the woods.I carry my Bravo-1 when I go 4X4ing.It's a tank of a knife.Stout and strong.
I love both of them for different reasons but they are both awesome designs.
