Hello there... this was going to be my field knife for the upcoming semester's Guard drill weekends and training exercises, but as my miserable luck would have it, books for next semester are way more expensive than they were this semester, so it has to go.
About the knife:
10.75" OAL
5.6" Blade
Convex edge, false edge unsharpened, labeled "Pre-Production Prototype" and "Korea, World War II, Vietnam Commando 1941 TM," has gray micarta scales, full tang, looks like heavy brass pins. Cordura sheath with front pouch, velcro belt loop and tie down grommets.
Knife is unused, but you can tell it's a prototype, the fit and finish is a little bit off all around, and there's some rub marks on the blade from the sheath.
I talked to Mike Stewart of BRKT over on knifeforums, he said the blade steel is either 440C or Sandvik 12C27, but that he doesn't remember which. He said he made them himself, and that the production version has wood scales. Evidently the gray canvas micarta handled ones are very rare, but he seems to suffer from regular memory loss, lol, so he couldn't tell me how many, only that it's "One out of a handful, but only valuable to those who want to collect it."
So... starting it at $150, which is where Doorkicker started it when I bought it from him. Entertaining trade offers if you have something I really want, willing to trade down, trade + cash, but I have no money, so no trading up... looking for multiple Spyderco or Benchmade folders, Busse AS or maybe SKs, Swamp Rats. I'll listen to any offer though.
Pictures are Doorkicker's, but the condition has been the same since I got it, it's just been sitting next to my LCE harness.
