I'm a great fan of Bark River knives and hope to eventually get one. Functional outdoor and hunting designs with good steel (A2). Recently they launched a run of these knives based on a traditional Bosnian design.

The design looks like an ideal cutter and slicer but at the same time, I think it'll make you feel confident if you find yourself in a tight spot!

I think I like it...its almost like a fillet knife but thicker and what not. And the sheath is neat with the double ringed belt loop.

I've always liked trailing points and "Persian" style knives in general, so that design works for me. It would be equally handy as a fighter or hunter. Sandvik 12c27 is a nice steel choice, as well. But I think the later run of A2 steel with a convex edge would be more versatile than the hollow ground version they're doing for the limited run. a convex ground 12c27 would be perfect, especially with mosaic pins and black micarta.

My thoughts exactly V Shrake!

BTW, do you have a link to your old sites? I used to visit 'em sometime ago, very informative with lots of outdoor and survival wisdom! But I lost them when my old PC crashed.

Thanks!

It looks like a competent game knife. I'll remember that if I have to skin any Bosnians. <Grinning Ducking & Running>

I have a terrible memory for web addies, and can't find it listed on any of my scratch pads, but of you do a search for "Old Jimbo" you should find it. It's Jimbo's site that my articles are on.

oldjimbo.survival.com *might* get you there. Sorry I wasn't more help, dude.

Thanks for the complement and posting the addie, Brian. I develop a mental block whenever I try to remember a web addie. Then agai, it's not like they make it easy, with so many characters to type in. The greatest service some computer geek could do for the rest of the world is to come up with a *simple* method of navigating the web. :)
