Somebody help me choose! They're both a little expensive for me, and I want to make sure I choose the right one. I'm looking for a large bushcraft/survival knife that is good at most things, but maybe not great at anything in particular, probably a little more emphasis on chopping/batoning, but can be used for skinning/fileting too. I've done a lot of research, and am stuck between these two. Thanks for the help, all! :D

I'd go with the Fallkniven (even if you are in the completely wrong forum for this).

Although if you went with the Bark River, I bet you'd be able to make do somehow. Still, I do like that laminate steel in the Fallkniven. It's your buck.

Both great knives....eventually most of us end up with both.....
Few things to consider before makeing your decision:

1. Do you care about blade stain/oxidation/rust? Than Fallkniven A2 is a better choice.
2. Do you worry about chipping your blade? VG-10 is more brittle - will chip when abused or misused, while A2(Bravo-2) steel will roll before it chips.
3. Both easy to resharpen, but personally I find VG-10 edge slightly better/longer lasting than A2 edge .
4. Some people have issues with the ramp on Bravo2.
5. Some people have issues with the original handle material on Fallkniven A2.

Personally I would go with the BRK Bravo2 with micarta/G10 handle for a chopping/batoning tool.
But again, in the end is a personal choice, and unless you try them both, you'll never know which one is better for you....
