BRKT pro scalpel II - any feedback

I am contemplating a pro scalpel II for a pocket size blade to carry when hiking, biking, tooling around with the kids, etc. Perhaps a bit of paring/cooking work too. Does anyone have any experience with this blade as a general use knife. It will more or less be an only knife much of the time with a hatchet for fires, etc. when camping other than that.

It's a nicely balanced, comfortable little knife. Very handy for light utility and food prep when hiking or camping. It's not something I'd want to use to break down firewood. It might be helpful to look closely at the in-hand pics -- it's very compact. As long as you're ok with that, it's one of my favorite BRKT designs.

I liked the dimensions, and the thin (for BRKT) blade. Something about the handle scallops didn't fit right in my hand, sold it.

They look ok but some of the custom makers do awesome small blades such as ML Knives and Dave Farmer knives just to name two !

I really like the PSII. It has a full four finger grip grip and is well balanced. The second pic shows it next to my mikro. I love my mikro but the PSII for me is so much more of a knife.

I like my PSII also - the grip is just right for up close work and the blade holds a wicked sharp edge. I wouldn't consider it for heavy use, but otherwise a very handy knife.

Howdy,

I have a Bark River IMP that I am very happy with. It features A2 steel.

It is very rugged and heavy duty. I use it as a companion to a BRKT Fox River.

I don't have any direct experience with the pro scalpel II, but I do highly recommend the IMP model.

Thanks for the feedback and the pics help. I am not a big guy, but have bigger than avg hands xl gloves. My dilemma is not being able to handle this or other options before purchasing.

Does anyone know how the handle stacks up against a more clipper? a fallkniven F1?

I bought one for my dad for fathers day. He loves it, it was his first really nice knife, i got him the carbon fiber scales which are boss. Its a great cutter and a beautiful, handy little knife. Go for it, if you dont like it, sell it.
