BRKT Rogue warped blade

Hey everyone, bought a rogue a little over a year ago and brought it out and finally carried it and saw a little wood last week.

problem.......

The blade is curved to the left by a few degrees.
Second problem is after chopping a dozen times through a 3in maple branch . When you shake the knife there is a light rattle from inside the handle, something must have busted loose inside. Which is odd because it is full tang and pinned black micarta.

Really wanted to start using it, the rattle is not that big a deal in use but annoying when handling and not sure if there is structural problems.

The warped blade bugs me though for what I paid, wish I noticed after it was shipped and sent it back.

What are BRKT like to deal with . Sure seems like I paid full for a factory second. Shipping from Canada to them and back is gonna cost me plenty.

any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

It has been my experience that they will take good care of you. Contact Mike Stewart. I am sure that they will replace it.

Had a problem with a cracked handle on a Micro Canadian. Sent it back and Mike and the gang made it 100% right.

Shipping from Canada isn't too bad, it's the insurance that hurts.

It did take a few months for them to turn it around. They are busy and try to do repair work between production runs.

Contact Mike via Private Topic through the Bark River forum over on "that other" forum to let him know what's up. Then send it in. It will come back 100%

From what I've seen of BRKT's support of their products I would definitely agree. I doubt it would matter how long ago it was purchased... Mr. Stewart has stood firmly behind his products in the interactions I have seen here

Mike is an AWESOME guy to deal with, or just talk to.

Contact him and he will make it correct, he will stand behind any product they make 100%

Not to sound like a Richard but why didn't you contact BRKT in the first place?

I am the opposite of the others as I had awful service with BRKT. Ordered mini, mirco Canadians and Northstar at once in memory of my mom. Around 8 months later I get a call that they Canadians are in, but the Northstar will be another month (turned out it would take nearly 2 years). I get the Canadians in and am very disappointed. Bad grind lines, DULL, micro chipped edge, very poor representation of a BRKT knife, but almost exactly the same as I found in my 'Lil Bird and Trout. I get in touch with Bark River and they tell me to contact the vendor for a return??? I hang up and almost immediately get a call back from BRKT telling me to just send it to them and they will sharpen/finish the knives. I do so, and a couple of months later I get them back- still dull, poor finish and with a bill for the cleanup!!! I give them a call again, express my displeasure in regards to the lack of any work done to the knives, and especially the fact that I am charged for a return of new knives that nothing was done to!!! I mention that I have another (Northstar) on order and would not wish to have the same experience with my next, and that if it comes in the same condition as the Canadians it will be my last BRKT. They promise me that the next one will be in pristine condition and I have nothing to worry about. Roll on to this fall where I get my Northstar , holes in the mosaic pins, dull edge (can't cut paper), dirty tang, uneven trim on scales, and very poorly made sheath.

I debated sending it back after starting a thread in GB&U, but as they essentially lied to me and 4/5 of their knives arrived in poor condition I will no longer have anything to do with their products.

I found a chip in the blade of my knife eh. I read that I can get a free knife if I have a chip on the edge and poor finish! So what’s up eh? Do I get a new knife or what eh?

Better watch out, Mike might put you to work on the production line checking the edges on all the Canadians :)

Good they might come sharp then......

CLAK, I had some edge and grind issues with my brothers bravo2 and when I got it back you could see they over ground the piss out of it to the point that, that's the first my bro commented on. They sent me a bill too :(

Hey I just noticed the problems when the knife finally came into the sunlight and got used. Easy to notice the warp then.
Thought I would just put the question to you guys as this is the first time I have ever had to deal with a QC/ customer service with any knife company.
As in the previous posts have read mixed reviews the past year about BRKT.

Thanks everyone and post your experiences as well.
Kinda broke right know so I have to wait a bit to wrangle shipping and insurance.

I do really like my microcanadian and sperati so this is not a hate thread. Just the facts.

Went to that other forum as suggested and sent Mike an email.
Got an immediate reply to send it in from him and they will make it right, good quick response I must say.

I will fill you guys in once I get it returned, hopefully with good news

Slightly off topic, but you may want to suggest them to avoid UPS on the way back, I just got dinged 40 bucks in brokerage out of a 40 dollars blade

That is good advice, got caught on that once myself. Bark River shipped back via US Post when I sent my knife in.
