Has anyone ever used Bark River's sharpening service? I'm just wondering how long it takes. I recenty received a Bravo1 in trade and the last inch or two of the knife if very dull, probably used for digging mushrooms as the previous owner stated he used it for. Does anyone have any experience with Bark River's service?

I recently sent them an Aurora and a Kephart for sharpening and the whole thing
took approximately two weeks round trip.

Thanks. Do you just send them in a box marked "sharpening"? I can't find a contact email address on their website.

call them and let them know you are going to ship it and they should tell you when they receive it. they say 2 weeks is their turn around time. i sent mine in for a modification and they sharpened it as well. if you just wanted sharpening though your prolly better off sharpening at home so you can use it.

Go to their web page It contains all the info you need to send a knife to them. Turnaround time depends on how busy they are.

I've tried, but the combination of my poor convex sharpening skills and the extreme dullness of the tip are making me think about just sending it to BRKT.

The edge you get is phenomenal, just for informational purposes. I've sent in 1 for a sharpening- a Queen Mountain Man that came back shaving hair. 2 went for repairs- a 1916-dated Marble's Woodcraft came back with repaired washers and refreshed stag, while a 1944 Catt 225Q got a new handle installed. The Catt took longer since it was a restoration, but I'm glad I had it done.
