Looking for a big knife with stacked leather handle.
Narrowed it down to these to.

What to choose and why? It wont be a collection knife, it will see some heavy usage, mostely clearing paths, chopping, batoning and so on.

I say Fallkniven but I'm prejudice. I've had a few n loved em all! Down to just the volcano and the juni now!!

Both are good options. I would pick the Fallkniven though. It will probably have slightly better fit and finish and I think it looks a little nicer. Good luck either way!

It's more a matter of which do you prefer. Both are good knives. The Fallkniven is VG-10, one of my favorite stainless alloys, but I prefer carbon steel for an outdoors knife. I voted for the Bark River.

I agree that the Fallkniven looks nicer, but its twice the money too.
Im leaning towards a Teddy II for that reason and that reason alone.

However, if someone has another suggestion for a bowie knife im all ears.
It needs to have a leather stacked handle and be up for some hard use though

Well, i almost went went for the NL2, but recently, BRKT realeased a new batch of Teddy II and its half the price of the Fallkniven.

So, this friday, my new bowie will arrive. Of course in stacked leather. Im sure it will serve me well for many many years to come.

Also, i never had a A2 blade, but plenty of vg 10..so little excited bout that too

Here it is. First impressions. Its a big knife, yet it feels nimble, well, i use that term lightly now. It not as heavy as i expected.
The handle is thick, you need big hands, which i got so no problem there.

It feels a little handle heavy but its not. It balances just in front of the quillion.

Right out of the box it was hair popping sharp. Nice.
The stacked leather looks and feels really good, nice touch with the red and white thin spacers.

General feel, this is a tank! You wont destroy it.

However, the finish could have been better. Im sure the Fallkniven is in another leauge here. Also another prize..
Mine came with some minor glue stains on the sheath and pommel.

But! Make no mistake, im already on love with it!
The small finish problems is nothing that i cant fix easy myself. And its a user, so..things will get worse from here on.

Cant wait to take it out this weekend for some usage. We are off to a good start..

Looks nice!

I was going to pick the BRKT too. Fallkniven makes a great knife but not sure it is worth double the price. YMMV.

Picks some pics when you go out and beat the heck out of it.

Out for a quick test drive today. All i can say is that it does what you want without questions. What really struck me is how good the steel took the strop afterwards. Two minutes or so on green and the white compound and the egde is just so sharp..

If you dont have a Teddy II but thinking of one, go get it! You probably wont be sorry. This one aint leaving anytime soon.
