I'm looking at getting my first Barkie. I like the look and size of the woodland special, and by the specs it should be close to my Busse game warden.

Does anyone have one? What do you think of it?

Any in-hand pics would be great.

Sorry, no in hand shots.

Here’s a side by side of the Highland Special and Woodland Special.

As you can see it has the same size handle with a shorter blade.

A very usable knife, it cuts much bigger then you would think based on how easily it carries in the belt.

Un-like some of the three finger Barkies, this knife gives you a real handle to hang on to.

PS- Please note that the knives pictured are customs with a swedge grind that is not standard on the regular models.

I don't have an in-hand shot but my Woodland is my favorite knife. I'll try to get an in hand shot with a comparison for size. For now, heres some pics.

Notice mine is an older model with the hollow pins and no lanyard hole. All newer Woodland Specials have a lanyard hole.

Sorry, no in hand shots here either. But I do have a pic with a Woodland and Gunny together.

Nice little knife. Acts like a much bigger knife. I would feel fine if it was my "only" knife.

I think you'll like it.

Here's a picture of the two. Busse has a little taller blade but pretty close in size. Both are nice knives.
