Broad Axe Identification

Hi all,
I am new here and would like to identify a broad axe I have . It is about 10 inches across. It has AMES stamp into the head as well as a mark of E.C over CST or GST. Sorry, I cant seem to post a photo

What do you want to know ? Obviously it was made by AMES

ToddMaci, I'm interested, does the stamp just say "AMES" or might it be part of a larger word or name?


If you can't post a picture here then take a picture with a phone then apply a couple of different effects filters to it and see if that doesn't help reveal a little more of the stamp.

Posting a couple of pictures would definitely be the best way to get input.

Ames may have been a rebrander. Could be E.C. Simmons cast steel.

Edit: Maybe the other way around made by Ames and sold E.C. Simmons Hardware.
