David finished this knife for me about 8 month's or so ago. It's a takedown version that David based on the Loveless BB design we are all familar with.. I had it out for a "wipe down" a few weeks ago, and while I put most of my others back into cases for storage right away, I continued to handle, and admire, this one again for several more days.. It's so well made, and fits my hand nicely.. The small gold inlays were done by Jim Small, and there is an additional one on the top of the hilt as well. The recessed fastener cap, in the bottom of the handle that allows take down, is nicely gold inlayed as well.. (A lot of extra work by Jim, on a part that is harldy visible, but that's the kind of special touch he brings to his work...)

David can confirm, but I'm certain the damascus was made to order for this piece by Chad Nichols..The handle is Ebony wood and has great contours for my personal grip. Feels Great!

Jim and David have become friends of mine over the years, and I want to thank them both again so much for their work on what has become one of my favorites... Good Luck at Blade David... Best Regards, Rich

I always repeat myself when the subject of David Broadwell's subhilts come up, so here goes again - one day I will own a David Broadwell subhilt.

Hard to find a subhilt more to my liking than David's.

absolutely stunning! nice damascus from chad. it would have to be pryed from my cold dead hands.;) cheers, Kris

Bob, you seem to have a problem. I would be willing to help you! And thanks to the rest of you guys.

Rich, it's good to see this sub hilt again. I really like making this one. Jim's embellishment is excellent! And the damascus was from Delbert Ealy. I used Chad's damascus on your dagger. And that photographer did a nice job as well.

I appreciate the opportunity you gave me, Rich, to build the knife!

David, thank you for putting right who made the damascus you used.. Stupid of me, really..

Delbert, I have heard you don't use the computer much, but if you see this, I'm very sorry you weren't properly named when I posted this... Thanks to everyone who left comments..

David, again, I hope you have a fun and profitable Blade Show... Best Regards, Rich

I'm pleased for you Rich! That's (2) Broadwell subhilts being posted today (M.O.D.) It's contagious!

I agree on all counts of the artisans. Thanks for the post.
