Got it at WM last night, this one has the scissors, I thought it was the old model, but looking at LM's website, this is the new one. The sticker price was $70, but I only paid $60. I've been using this one, now, not only am I a knife nut, but I also have 4 multi tools and a SAK. One SOG Powerlock, with a Crosscut on the way from a BF trade, one LM Wave, one LM Squirt and one LM Juice, as well as a Victorinox Swiss Champ. One bad habit was bad enough, but now I have two :D !

You are certainly not the only one. I own expensive knives (got a Spyderco Manix on order right now), about 10 SAKs, and two Leatherman (old Wave and Charge Ti). To be honest a Victorinox SAK like (for instance) the Huntsman would be enough for 99% of my needs, but I always discover something new that is 'absolutely necessary' to buy.
:D

I've carried the Wave for years. Great tool. The only problems I've really encountered were a flat screwdriver blade snapped off with hardly any real torque(Leatherman gave me a new Wave after I sent the old one in) and when I used the wire cutters to cut the seals on trailer doors, it would bind closed. I would have to use a coin or something flat to pry the jaws apart. Other than that, it's been in my EDC rotation for 5 or 6 years.

I carried an original wave for quite a few years. The only issue I had was that it was impossible to extract tools from one side. Forget fingernails, and coins would make it 'easier', but not easy. The new one is much improved in that respect and I like locking blades, but I liked the older scissors better.

If your new (old) wave has good action on all the tools, it's definitely a keeper.

However, the SOG Plock is far superior, except for the wave one hand blade. IMHO.

You're getting a good collection going. My progression was:
1. Old Wave (nail buster - retired)
2. LM Juice XE6 (wirecutters failed me when needed - too small - delegated to toolbox)
3. LM Crunch with SAK Cybertool 41 (Still the most capable combo and still on deck)
4. SOG Powerlock with customized implements (Backup tool.)
5. SwissTool Spirit Plus (best overall quality of the bunch, more capable than the SOG because of the PLUS ratchet, and on par with #3 above) with Pocketwrench II in the sheath as well [Current EDC tools.]
6. SAK Huntsman LITE ("Light" EDC when pliers/bits aren't needed)
