I had no choice; I had to get it. Saw a brand new one on fleaBay for $96. It called my name, and I was powerless.
I'm not sorry, though. Not by a long shot. A big piece of flat-ground S30V, a nice, large Spyder hole, a pointy tip, and a handle that fits my catcher's mit... I mean hands... for $100?? Ok.
I can't wait to put this sucker through a workout. It feels every bit as sturdy as my Benchmade 710 (even though it's a tad lighter). It's definitely coming outside with me after work. :D
Who else has thoughts/experience?
Alex.

You have done well, my son. Carrying a Millie is the first step to ultimate knife wisdom. Walk forward from here, and slice all that lies between you and heaven.

The Millie was my first Spyderco. I don't have the biggest hands ( I stand 5' 8" and I weigh 140 lbs) but the knife fit perfectly. Sharp as hell. Scary sharp. My only knives before it were some Gerbers, CRKT, and lower end Kershaws (the Blackout and Chive). Oh and some cheapo knives I got at Walmart.

Made me a Spyderco fan right there and then. Now if only they could make a titanium framelock Millie or Para....

An excellent decision! I have three - two Carbon Fiber and one G-10. The G-10 goes almost everywhere with me. What more can I say? Enjoy.

The Military is too big for me (the handle, not the blade); it feels like a machete in my hands. But the blade shape is very utilitarian, and the linerlock is very well designed.

A wise move, Grasshopper. For I have long ago learned, that a Spyderco Military is a gotta have knife. I recently procured myself an older version, with the ATS34 blade. Love it!

I've owned two Millies, one with ATS55, and my current one, a black bladed S30V without Military written on it. Since my Manix went out to the Colorado health spa, my Millie has been my constant user at home working in the woods and garden. No heavy duty stuff yet, but I have been using it. It was a safe queen for far too long.

Congrats!! The Military is an AWESOME Spydie!! I currently own a CF Military, that I LOVE.

As nice as this one is, I'm thinking of rehandling it with some.... Yellow carbon fiber. :D

Yellow CF - that'd be "sweet." From the factory - to dream.

I like the Military - got three now - they're in the daily rotation.

So, not to rain any -

But remember, it's a liner lock, so check it under some spine whack testing (actually I test all my lockers, but I'm more weary of liner locks). Always better safe than accidentally cut. My oldest one needed adjustment (love that old adjustable pivot) to safely pass medium/hard wacks, and one of the newer ones needed a bit of contact area roughening to increase grip/stiction.

I agree ... but can it out-slice a Shabaria? (I have two!) :D

Ah, Shalom Esav! I have only one Shabaria (had to find one after I learned about its history). I haven't tried a slice-off between it and a Military. It would be fun though, wouldn't it? :D

I should have skipped this post. You guys got me wanting to get me a Military. I have a Native and it is an awsome knife. It may not be big enough for some people, but to me its a lot of knife in a small package. I had my eye on a Military a while back and got a used small sebbie. I still may have to get me a Military very soon.

I currently own a PE mili with Tritium incerts and I love it, it gets a nast edge and holds it....you did good

I say for anyone that loves knives the Millie is a must have. And damn, who would have thought Buzzbait was a poet. Well said dude.

I love the Spydies, got 3 Millies, 2 of em are for my grandkids when they get old enough. I started with Spyderco when they first came out & I've been spoiled ever since. Altho I'm carrying a Benchmade 630 right now ( the hole & tip down carry make it an honorary spyderco), and I really like it.

Congrats, as was said before it's a must have !

My Milly (ATS-34 SE) is my favorite knife, nothing cuts like it. I currently own 3 ATS-34, 440V, S30V.

I lost the first one I owned, a Black blade SE in ATS-34, still miss that knife.

Now that you have the Millie you have to buy it's two brothers, the Manix and the Para.

I have a CF Millie that I'm a big fan of for EDC.

After years and years and lots of knives...the Military is the one I reach for, it just "feels" right.

The Military is definitely an all-time classic! It’s certainly one of the very best folding knife designs that I’ve encountered.

I have both a serrated and plain edge one in 440V. (My serrated Millie has the old diamond engraving that looks so good.) At some point, I’ll probably buy a third one.
