Yeah, RIGHT! C'mon, you knew that was bull$hit right off the bat!

:D

Look, I know that this is another instance of serving up a sermon to the choir, but I just received my first AR (thanks, Barry ;)), my first Strider for that matter, and it is one bada$$ m*therf*cker. :)

I don't think I've ever had a folder (and I've had a few) custom or production that screamed to me "PLEASE BEAT ME UP." Now I know what all the fuss is about.

Hat's off to the Strider fellas and fellettes for creating this monstrosity. Hell, even most of my damned fixed blades are obsolete now!

OH crap,
I swear my eyes got about 10" around and my heart stoped beating. I sat there trying to think how in the hell you could do such a thing.

Thanks for the laugh!!

Sheesh, do a guy a good deed and he goes out and has to f*** it up.
Whaddaya think you are anyway, a carpenter:rolleyes: ?
Actually, dude, I put a tiny chip in the tip of the blade on mine. But thanks to my Apex, you'd never know;) .
Glad you like, welcome to the club!

I've blown off work just to mess with this thing today!

First thing I did was disassemble it and de-burr the holes around the stop pin. The burrs were poking the G10 scales away from the ti liners.

Next thing I did was throw it into a 2x12 section a few dozen times. Might be my first folding throwing knife! ;)

Thinking about now locking my keys in my car and using the AR like a can-opener...

More later.

Is the AR disassembly-friendly? As simple as a Sebenza? I had wondered about taking mine apart to slick up the action, but it's flickable already. Mine has a faint audible hinge squeek, even after a few drops of lube.
Whaddaya think?

...but I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone. I wouldn't have taken it apart at all other than the sunlight seen between the scales and liners was breakin' my heart.

The biggest challenge is the spanner nut at the pivot. I think Strider does a heck of a job Loc-Titing that joker. I had a TIME getting the pivot pin apart. If you don't possess a spanner wrench, forgetaboudit...

Professor.

Professor, you scared the sheep-dip out of me with that thread title! I just ordered an AR so I could carry less junk and I wouldn't have to worry about dinging my EDC. I'm the kind of guy that hates scratching a cosmetic surface or buggered up screw heads.

There---my pulse is back to normal.

In hopes that someone sees my post above and trades me a GB or an AR,(please take pity on my Striderless soul)

Whta tools ae needed to field strip a GB/AR. I like to take my folders apart and clean/lube/play with them on Sunday mornings. My CQC7 has spoiled me in this respect. But a CQC7 just aint a GB and damnit I wnat a GB so how do I get one apart?
