Hi all

I dont often post here but have been lurking for awhile now. A friend of mine who i think is a regular here has got me hooked on Busse, which is strange as I have never even held one (Thanks Herber).

Anyway to cut a long story short we just traded knives and I will soon be the very proud owner of a badger attack 3 with custom sheath. I was hoping you boys/girls could tell me more about the badger and where it excels best.

Many thanks
B

Congrats!
few months ago when I got my first Busse the fellow forumites told me :" say good by to your money", "now you're toast" and that kind of things...
At this time I tough "they must be joking", and now I only own BUSSE, Swamp Rat will do but no other!!!
I now owne 9 and my Bank is very tired of me!!!!
You'll for sure be glad for this Badger, it will serve you well if you're Hunter or Outdoor oriented and for some can be wear as EDC!
It's a good slicer as well so no worry for SD part... :D

Brendan, glad you are excited. It is a nice knife. I know I'll miss it after it's gone, ut I'm glad it's going to a friend for some loving.;):D

Brendan, welcome to the trough.

You made a great choice for a first Busse.

THe Badger is very nimble, had a good bit of belly, and is very comfortable for EDC carry.

You will, of course, find yourself mumbling "why not sooner, why not sooner" after you show it your love. It will take almost anything you can throw at it.

Be sure and post updates, as well as pics if you can, so we can all hear what you find.

Again, welcome.

Mike

Congrats man! The sheath looks awesome!

Killer combo!

Welcome to the trough! ;)

Questions :

1 - This asymetrical edge, please tell me me how it came about. I find this fascinating !!

2 - Coating, how do you remove the blade coating and is it advised !!

3 - Sharpening, whats the best way to maintain a good working edge !!

Any findings are welcome, I need knowledge and have surfed the past posts but need more !!

Brendan, next time you get online, let's finalize the deal. BTW Brendan is getting my BA3 and Leatherman sheath. :) I sure am going to miss it. Guess I'll have to by an SJ to make up for it.:D

Now, I'll give the thread back to him.;)

After all that work it took to get you to get the Badger, and now you're giving it up? Yeah, you do need a SJ. ;)

Welcome, Brendan, to the proud world where we mere piglets sit around and wonder how the true hogs can afford as many Busses as they own.

Oh, and abuse that thing when you get it. ABUSE IT.

Yeah Zal, I'm probably crazy. But oh well. Now, where is an SJ when I need one? he he he

Congratulations Brendan!:D

The edge is actually easier to maintain than you think. Just use a ceramic stick to strop it on occasion (drag the narrow ground side edge trailing).

Removing the coating is not not advised;). Infi looks good stripped, dipped, sprayed, blasted, polished, or covered in gunk:D
