I was standing on the bumper of my truck, ti lift the tonneau cover, and slipped and fell off. I hit my chin on either the bumper or trailer hitch. I landed on my butt, with my back leaned up against the bumper. I do not know what I hit my left hand/ wrist on. The other things are sore, but fine. I thought that I had broken my hand YESTERDAY, but wanted to wait and see. Well, I did not sleep well last night because of the pain. Well, I decided that I should have it checked out today. I called the front desk and inquired about a walk-in clinic; and there was one located about 2 blocks away. Yup, it IS broken. It is splinted for now, and will be casted in a week, due to swelling. The people are FANTASTIC here!! I am in West Yellowstone, MT.

I am in BIG TIME pain too!!!

The broken wrist did not stop me from seeing some of Yellowstone today. It was a shorter visit than planned due to the pain. And I will NOT drive whilst on pain killers. So, I came back to my room, ordered dinner, and WILL be taking my pain pill!!

I am also taking off. I am and have been headed home, but since I was in this part of the country, I thought would stop and see Yellowstone. Anyway, I am headed home. I will be back on the road tomorrow.

Thanks for listening!!

Thank God you didnt break your wrist in Indiana!!! ( sorry a little brevity to cheer you up!!)

Hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself..

LOL!! Thanks for the chuckle!! :D I know it could have been far worse. Hey, at least I didn't break my jaw.

I am happy to report that my pain pills ARE working!!

THANK YOU for your support! I really appreciate you guys.

I AM taking good care of me. I WILL have a great rest of my trip.

Hey, I still had a GREAT time in Yellowstone today, despite how much pain I was in.

And if you didn't take pictures, go back and run through it again and take pictures this time!
(We'll let you use a tripod since your wrist is broken.)

That sounds like my kind of vacation. It seemed that on our trips with our children we almost always spent some time in an ER. I can think of 3 good ones off the top of my bald head and there were some minor ones.

I hope you heal fast.

Lovely Lady, you are something else ! Your motto parallels USPO's but with more emphasis .

We were at Yellowstone in '98 with EX & enjoyed it immensely. An Alaskan Tours group ,almost all Japanese, made it more fun.

Soulmate wants to go & also see the Grand Canyon. Figure trip'll cost at l least 2 K + & that puts her off.

Wrists heal & are forgotten but great memories remain. We are praying for our "unsinlable" TLC.

Uncle Alan & Patsy. :)

That's terrible Suz, feel better, heal fast! Wow this has been some up and down journey from the beginning. Well wishes and speedy recovery prayers sent out for a smooth road home.

TKC, what the hell are you trying to do--get the discount rate for ER/hospitals nationwide?

Of course, if the folks in Practical Tactical were as tough as you are, we wouldn't need a forum like that.:D

Feel better, have fun, keep us posted, and come back safely.

Hope that you are feeling better soon and that the rest of the trip, be a safe one.

Hang in there, Suz. Enjoy the rest of your trip and post photos when you have the chance.

Hey, there's a killer ice-cream shop in West, they will mix up pretty much anything. You can also head up (north of town) to Emo's (I think that's the name) and select and grill your own cuts of meat. It's a great place. The Cinnamon Lodge (a little further north) has the best Mexican food in Montana and the owner Jim is a great guy, a real character. Hope you feel better soon!

Take care, girl.

This IS supposed to be an adventure ... but it doesn't have to star Bruce Willis. :D

Feel better fast!

(and yes, I am very jealous of you being in Montana (Don't forget Glacier and To The Sun Road and some hiking in Glacier even if they are short ones), but not the wrist part).

LOL!! That made me out loud big time!!

Thank you ALL for the jocularity & support.

There was nice little walk-in clinic in West Yellowstone.

I am now in Rapid City, SD. I am visiting a friend here. Tomorrow, Kiby (my dog) and I will be back on the road,
