Broke the pocket clip on my Mantis....

Some of you might or might not know that I actually own and have owned more than one Mantis knife. After tons and tons of hours reading on this forum I have also come to the conclusion that I am one of, if not the only person who actually uses one daily and loves using it (perhaps I am just the only one who will admit to it:cool:).

So anyway I carry my Pit Boss in my left front pocket (been carrying it this way since Dec2011) and it caught on my seatbelt when I was getting out of the car and snapped the clip, I am actually going to miss this being out of comission.

I sent an email to Gary West inquiring as to getting a replacement sent to me, this is what I recieved

No cost, however we don’t send parts, you must return the knife to us for service. We will repair it sharpen it, oil it, and ship it back to you the same day.


I am not really wanting to send it off just to have a clip installed which I can easily do myself, so what do you all recommend?
 
My Quartermaster Murdock (same knife design, basically) didn't come with a pocket clip, so I had to find one that fit. The two I found, while not perfect matches, that did work were the clip off a Benchmade/HK Pika and the clip off a ZT 560/550 gen 2. Both companies will send you a clip for free.

For screws to secure the clip on, if you don't have working ones, I used body screws from a CRKT Ripple. Man, I love having spare parts!
 
I have the original screws, and I really love how the clip was fitted into the handle. So I replied to Gary with this.

I am not looking for a freebie/warranty service thing here. I would gladly pay to just get a pocket clip or two, this knife has been in my pocket everyday since 2011. I have torn this thing apart and put it back together so many times getting this knife adjusted to just how I want it to be, that I am positive I have voided the warranty, and I really don't want or need anyone fiddeling with it. Sir I value this knife greatly and am more than capable of installing a pocket clip, if there is anyway to arrange this it would be most appreciated.
 
Might try to contact Jared at Quartermaster and see if the Murdock clip can be ordered and fit to the Pit Boss.

I gotta say if I get a clip in the mail, this company is fairly stand-up. Not sure what everyone's contempt is with this company.
