Broke the tip off my M9LE...

I was digging on a 2x8 and this happened.. Snapped right off. :( My heart sank down into my stomach.. I hope this is covered... I still feel like crap.

The tip of the M9LE is very thin compared to some of my other big choppers. I can see how applying lateral force could snap off a tip like that under the right circumstances.
 
You should get that Rat reprofiled....more of a spear-point and with the tip being further back......it could be made thicker solving the "thin-tip" issue and I think it would look GREAT!!

I was just looking at my M9LE. The tip is, of course, part of the hard tempered portion of the blade. It is a fine thin tip. It is probably not the best knife for prying with the very tip. It sure is a fine bowie, though. Swamp Rat will make it good, so all is well.
