Broken back spring

Hey everybody.
I just tried to open my Queen Amber Bone stockman and the spring broke.
Is this common?
Do you think Queen will fix it?

I think they might just replace it, if it's something that just happened and wasn't the result of abuse; would cost more to fix than to replace.
