Broken Balisong

I ordered a Artisan Cutlery Kinetic-Tool with the titanium handles, and it's made to be an auto knife with a coil spring to throw out the blade and after a week of playing with this thing the spring broke inside and becomes useless. So I sent it back to the dealer and they replace my knife. After a couple months the new replacement one also broke for the second time. Has this happened to anyone else with this particular model knife?

I've broken coil springs on autos before. Kind of the "don't play with it too much or it'll break " deal. Constantly flexing the spring will heat it up and potentially damage the heat treat. Maybe give the piece a break in between.

Anyway, without the spring, how well does it flip?

I've had mine for a year now and no issues other than button stick. It comes with alot if gunk for some reason and I had to clean and oil pretty well.

One note, how is the spring failing for you? If you can describe with more details. I noticed if you hold the handles a certain way etc it will actually fail to actuate.

It's doesn't flip that great, the handles are kind of light without backspacers to give it that weight in the lower handle.

I only deployed it around a dozen times, and I have full auto's for years that have coil springs and they are still working good, like Boker & Microtechs.
