Broken bits on my Gerber

Ive a Gerber that has 2 broken screwdrivers in it. They both broke under circumstances that they should NOT have IMO, I.E. i wasnt using them for pry bars.
What do you folks think the chances are of Gerber fixing them w/o charging me?

My reasoning being,by the time i paid shipping and whatever else i could just buy a new multitool.

Where are you shipping it from?

As far as I know Gerber will repair/replace free of charge for their multis. You may want to call ahead just to be sure before you send it.

When my bits broke, they told me that the both bits broken were 2 seperate issues. Meaning that when my first one broke, I should have sent it in, than again when the second broke, and said they could fix one and it would have to be sent back again?! I would have to pay for shipping and insurance twice, when getting a new tool would have been cheaper. I pitched the old gerbers and bought a Leatherman Wave. Extremely happy with it. The new wave has where you can buy an interchangable driver set as it has 2 bit adapters.

JD, that is sad ,,

And HORRIBLE customer service. Tis a dayum good way to lose customers.
I have to wonder which overpaid genius came up w/that policy.

Hmmm,,, i may just use it up and toss it then.

Thanks folks

Fog, I would just upgrade to a LM or Vic. About 10 year ago, Gerber multi-tools were pretty good. I used and abused mine without an issue. Now their QC has backslid so much they aren't worth the plastic blister pack they are shipped in.

LM Waves are great EDC. I'm also a fan of their Blast and Fuse as well...and their Surge...and their skeletool...oh and their ST-200/Core...not to mention the Micra...and of course the Crunch....you get the idea:o

Yep i do the idea. In fact i have a leatherman that i bought about the same time as the Gerber and have had NO breakage w/it.

But the tools dont lock and tho ive nevr been hurt by it ive had some scares.

I have been considering a Vic. But i do need to check out the generation of L.M. b4 i buy.

Thanks for the opinions !
