Broken Clip

I was sitting in a car and the clip apparently caught on the seat belt as I was getting out and this happened.. I've heard of people losing knives this way because the clip catches on something and pulls it out of the pocket, but not the clip actually breaking. I got the knife last May so it's not quite a year old and other than this happening today I have had no issues. I love my Delica and it has been an awesome knife to carry. Any other people ever have this happen?

Yup, a bunch of times. Give Spyderco a call, I bet they can help you out. Good luck and may the force be with you..... Always.

Yes. Normally after I've snagged a clip a dozen times or so it breaks.
I order multiples now just to make sure I always have spares.

The Delica in my pocket has had three or four different clips in the decade plus that I've had it. The current one has been caught on things a couple of times and bent back.

Yes, my delica 4 caught something as I was getting out of the car and bent it way out. Contacted spyderco and quoted me for a new clip. So I just took it off and bent it back. haven't had this problem on any other knife though.

The service desk is great,
I recently ordered a couple of replacement wire clips from them,
came with the clips, screws and a small tube of loctite.
they are not free, but the customer service is outstanding.

I'm assuming Shaving Sharp sent you Casey's info. He is here on BF and has always taken care of me so I plug whenever I can. His name on here is theoriginalspaceman. They are Ti and he will Anodize them too.

You could also take the opportunity to upgrade to a deep carry.

I have seen his clips before and it seems like he does nice work. Would you just get the plain "sandwashed" color for a brown FRN Delica or do you think a certain color anodized clip would look nice?

The anodized bronze/brown would look cool. Not sure what his range is as that is around 20 volts iirc. Make sure you get a long though. The short will not hit the smooth place and will be a pain and shred your pockets real fast.
