While wearing my Commander in my pocket at work recently, I got the pocket clip caught on a doorway as I was passing through it. The clip sheared off the knife and messed up the threads so the clip will no longer attach. Anyone know if this is covered by Emerson?

Most likely they'll fix it for you. Give EKI a call: 310-212-7455.

Wow, you must have caught it just right. I have banged my Commander on doors, walls, fire escapes... no problem. Maybe a call will produce results, EKI customer service is pretty good. Good luck.

Lets have fun with him first :D

All right, I can't take credit for the original concept, and my version sucked:BARF:. But I was bored.

Posted by another member before me but appropriate none the less.

Think the others meant to say Welcome to the forums Strike...Try the # Robert supplied..

"Strike Hold"

I rounded a corner once a tad sharp and with some momentum. I didn't sheer the clip off, but I did bend the crap out of it.
Call EKI.

Uhh...thanks..guys...I guess...

I looks like the screws just barely sit in the knife when they are screwed all the way in. Only the last few threads got messed up. Maybe I just got some short screws?

"strikeholdtroop"

The clip (and scale) screws go through the holes in the clip, through the holes in the scales and are screwed directly into the Titanium liner. The thread bearing surface that engages the liner can only be as thick as the liner itself . . . in the case of a current production Commander, .050 as I recall. In 99.999% of cases that appears to be enough, especially with three of them holding it in place.

That must have been some hit you gave it.

Strikeholdtroop,

These guys are troll-shy lately (with good reason). Welcome to the forum. I had the same thing happen to a Spyderco...the only part of the clip that remained on the knife was the itty bitty part that was left under the screws. Get hold of Derek and 'splain your trouble to him, I'm sure it will be either a minimal cost or free to get new screws and clip.

Damn JohnLL,

You went back a way to fetch this thread, The only good thing is that people are still enjoying the Troll song(it was a bitch to type, and I found it ironic that TTO used it to bash a fellow troll, but oh well:D).

Better luck next time choad bitting troll boy:).

P.S. The troll song concept was born in the RMMP Newsgroup:).
