I Love each and every one of my schrades and swore I would have them forever (perticularly my ot's , and just like most of you I had kids and realized I wouldnt have all of them forever. I was forced to part with some of my more valuble favorites when we needed some cash, so I got rid of one of my all time favorites the 160ot. The perfect knife for work ( althought this perticular one was never used by me) Great blade angle, perfect handle a little bit thinner back spine than a 153uh, Perfect for cutting at work, loved it. So a while after I was forced to sell it I came across one in pretty nice one in used condition for a deal. I had really taken a liking to this knife. I had, had one before but never realized how great it was for what I did everyday. I had finally found the knife for me. Today while digging in a field to fix a drain tile I noticed after the hole had been backfilled my knife was gone! I stayed after work and redug the hole up hoping to find her, but no luck... I sifted and sifted but it was gone. This sure wasnt the first knife I have lost and it darn sure it wont be the last but this one seemed to hurt the worst. Im sure everyone here has a story like this but I needed to vent a little bit and what better place to do it than here, with people who truly understand the loss of a good knife - Joel

Yep Joel, that sucks. Those ones don't come cheap. Keep after it and another good deal will show up.

Gotta hate that, Joel! There are deals to be found if you are vigilant though. It's replaceable. I've had terrible luck with holding on to 167UH fillets for some reason. Two lost and another two stolen since 1986. So much for "You can't lose your Uncle Henry" lol

not a nice thing to happen Joel......Those models do not come around very often! It was my first fixed blade Old Timer.

Joel, you have my sympathy, and I concur with your assessment of the knife; it is really an excellent design. My son and my best friend each bought "M" stamp Ruana knives for a song at pawn shops, and both immediately left their knives at a gut pile. I left my Dad's hatchet at a gut pile in 1961. I guess it is still there.
