Broken Snap, what to do?

Hey Ron, today I went to get my SOG Government out to practice with and while I was unsheathing the knife the top part of the snap broke. The upper part that is connected to the retaining strap fell apart in two pieces.

FWI This in no way hurt the sheath, knife or me. But now the knife isn't secure in the sheath so I'm leary of wearing it. I love my Government but am afraid it will fall out if worn (I mostly wear the knife while camping or working in my mom's yard).

So I guess my question is, what can I do to get the Snap fixed? Money is really tight right now so the least expencive the better.

Thanks for your time.

Hey Heber,

Either email me (ron@sogknives.com) or give me a call on Friday (888.SOG.BEST, x228). I'll be able to help you out.

Wait a minute, that's a toll free number!:o And all this time I thought it wasn't. Oops:o:o I'll see if I can find a phone on campus to use tomorrow to make that call. If not I'll email you.

BTW how are things going for you? Your medical problems gone I hope.

Things are going well. My migraines are still a "pain" and my pack problems aren't going away. Thanks for thinking about me. :) Hope to talk with you tomorrow.

Thanks Ron, for helping me out and answering all my questions. It was great talking to you Friday. You're the Man!:)

Sorry bout the back problems and migraines. I know what you mean about them being a pain. I have migraines too and it isn't any fun. But I've been taking a Calcium/Magniesium Supplement that has been helping. Just a thought.

BTW I took the Desert Dagger camping with me up Maple Canyon and it worked great. I'll post another thread with a field report.

Hi Heber: I was more than happy to take some time and talk with you on Friday. I'm glad you go past my "call screeners"! They can be tough!

I try not to whine too much about my migraines and neck/back problems. There are certainly people with worse problems than me, so from that perspective, I'm doing really well.

We'll be looking forward to the DD field report. That knife is just gorgeous!

To Everyone: If you have something you'd like to talk over in person with me, or just want to converse with the voice behind these "words," for heaven's sake, give me a call! :) Here's my phone numbers (you may need to get by my staff...they are very protective of my time :) as they should):
  • U.S. Toll Free: 888.SOG.BEST, ext. 228
  • Local Phone Number: 425.771.6230, ext. 228
And, if you're in the area, stop on by!

The Field report is online.:)

Hey Ron, talk about tough, it took me 4 tries just to reach your Call Screeners and after all that I wasn't sure if they would even let me through;).

BTW how much do I need to send you for a Field Pup Second and a Tactacal sheath for it? Got some extra money for helping a friend with her car so I think a SOG purchase is in order.
