Hi everyone!

Just wanted to tell you that I really like the Commander. Stop pin broke about two weeks ago so I emailed Emerson. Two stop pins in the mail and today I put the Commander together. It worked without a flaw when I had bought it but now when I put it together it wanted to rub one of the liners. No prob. Just a little tweaking and it was fixed in less than 20 sec. The only hard part was aligning the washers with the hole in the blade and the holes in the handle, when I was putting it together.

Great knife this one. You take it apart and put it together and there is no problem whatsoever. Cool.

Just one question do I need loctite for the screws that holds the handle scales or do I only need it for the pivot screw?

Jonas, big thanks for showing me the light. Never thought much about this knife until I had a chance to try yours.

I think that I have to get a leftie for my other pocket now :) (and maybe a ´98 for the collection).

Colinz,

You don't have to Loctite all the screws, I'll tell you something, NONE of mine have ANY Loctite at all!

But, if you choose to use Loctite, make sure you get the kind that does not really take a set.

Oh, and whenever I take one apart to clean it, to hold the washers in place while I'm reassembling, just a dab of lube will hold them to the blade till you can get everything lined up. Just a dab or they slide all over.

I use loc-tite on all the screws, but just a very very very small amount on each screw. Just enough so they won't back out on their own. Put it on 4 hours or so before you go to sleep, then when you get up it'll be set.

I´ll get the loctite that isn´t permanent and will start with applying it on the pivot screw first and maybe on the screws holding the scales later.

Thanks for the help,

/Colinz
