I dropped the 0200 on some concrete and there is no tip on it anymore. Can I send it in to Kershaw to get it repaired and how long does it take for them to repair then ship back out knives?

1. Welcome to Bladeforums! we are a bunch of crazies who love to help. be ready to stick around for contests and just plain lunacy :D :D we do know what we are talking about though, so dont be afraid to ask.

2. yup, you can sure send it out to kershaw. it wont take to long for them to turn it around to ya. best part is you just pay shipping to them. they do the rest! their CS is the best :D

3. i would avoid concrete in the future :p

Thanks for the info. I decided though, to just put a new tip on it myself.(I couldn't get myself to part with my knife) So after a little work with a coarse stone and several cut fingers later I have a half way decent tip on it.

Oh by the way, anyone know of a way I can take the black finish off of the blade so it's just silver?

karnavor, if you look you might be able to find a local shop to bead blast (ideally) or sand blast the knife.
Autobody shops sometimes have equipment for blasting paint off car parts.

I would cover the pivot hole before trying anything.

At worst you would need to send it to a custom maker who could do a proper bead blasting.

Or get some sand paper and polish it off yourself (this option would probably take around 30 hours to do a good job).
Working from a low grit to something around 2000 grit will give a nice polish, use a buffing wheel to give it real shine.

DOes the thumbstud on the ZT0200 come off just like the ZT0300 (it is a single cylindrical post pushed though a hole in the blade)? A satin bladed ZT0200 sounds intriguing....
