The first one is to regrind the blade profile. It's a bit of work on hand stones, but can be done and will cost you nothing assuming you have the stones.
The second one is to send it in to Benchmade. I recently had a problem with a 941D2CF that was only a week old. It came into contact with a live AC line and the blade was damaged when the electricity arced. It was certainly not a warranty issue as Benchmade had nothing to do with trying to cut a live wire. I sent it in with a note asking what could be done and how much it might cost to repair. When I got it back, the D2 blade no longer had #107 of 500 engraved, but other than that looked just as beautiful as the day I bought it.
I can't make any statements on Benchmade's behalf, but they do seem willing to go the extra step to keep their customers happy. Like has been said on this forum before, Angie at Benchmade service is AWESOME! I carry the 941D2CF nearly everywhere I go.
