Broken Vic Classic

I received a VIC Classic in a trade with a broken backspring on the blade. The blade opens more than it should and doesn't close all the way. I can take a photo of the broken backspring if anyone is curious.

I'm debating what to do with it. I could take it apart and use it for parts. I could take off the scales and replace them with wood for practice with re-scaling saks. Or just send it in for a repair. I'm leaning towards re-scaling it right now, but I'm seeing what ideas you all could give me.

Thanks.

I think the postage would cost nearly as much as a new one purchased via Ebay. Unless it has sentimental attachments, fixing a Classic is like taking a hamster to the vet.

Well I was just looking for different things I could use the parts for or do to it just for the pleasure of doing the work. I know I could send it back, already have one that should be coming back to me after a fight with a campfire. :P

What is the adress you send it to? I have a brand new defective VIC that I would like to send back.
