broken zippo

I have recently been using my zippo, and the flint wheel seems to have broke. It is a fairly new zippo so it is not the flint but the flint wheel. If anyone knows of a way to fix it, please tell me.

Is the wheel just stuck or did it actually break? If it is stuck try rolling it the opposite direction that you would strike it, to break it free. If it is broken send it back to Zippo they will replace it.

I've had a very small piece of flint get stuck under the wheel before. Pulling the spring and flint then using a paperclip or small pen blade gotten it out. Otherwise, Zippo will take care of it for you. They actually do repairs too, not just replace it with a new insert.

This is the usual suspect. Turning it the opposite way usually clears it.

I collect/carry Zippos, and have had this happen a couple of times. I have only had one break ever (an emblem popped off when I dropped it) and their repair warranty was painless and easy. Best of luck to you!

Wow, thanks everyone. The flint being stuck was the problem. Now I don't have to sit at my mailbox waiting for it to be returned, and I learned something new. Really appreciate the help.
