Bronze and steel damascus?

I was just thinking about it and thought I would post. Years and years ago one of my dads friends brought some knifemaking mags down and there was a custom made knife made with bronze and steel and the steel blued. It was sweet looking. But I have never seen anyone here do any. Are they junk performers? Just curious.

I'd think it wouldn't be good for a blade, but it can make gorgeous bolsters/guards.
