I always wonder what actually the finish are made of? I even have seen some with green patina...

Any one have experience how it hold up on using and how rough of the texture?

The bronze cerakote is one of the coolest finishes in my opinion.
However it does not hold up as well as the black crinkle coating from my experience.
Here are a few pictures:

This NMFSH has seen a lot more use than the CGFBM:

The CGFBM is still my favourite:

Its funny, yesterday I cut meat with the BM and where the coating is gone it developed a really nice patina.
Maybe I can make a picture of it later. The aged bronze coating is also very smooth, not rough at all.

Like ILabrador said, the bronze coating does seem to wear a little bit quicker than the crinkle. The cerakote is quite a bit smoother than the crinkle coating though, so it's a bit better for chopping IMO.

Cerakote is awesome on firearms where a holster is the most common contact surface. Even though it is smooth, it is only so-so on a high friction usage application like a chopping knife that gets used alot. It looks great when new, but wears much faster than one would hope and it is hard to strip off without mechanical means. The CGFBM with CBT might be the saving grace to keep the friction off of the majority of the coating though. ;)

The up side is it should be excellent for smaller knives that get used for kitchen/food prep duty or wall hangers. :)
