I was wondering if anyone has any experience with bronze knives. I've seen "bronze" knives that had a handle or gaurd made of bronze but I'm looking for a bronze blade, something that would look at home with the ancient Greeks.
Good question. The original arsenical bronzes were harder than the original cast iron blades. However, the cast iron was cheaper to produce, and so armies switched over to iron. Eventually, of course, steel outperformed both iron and arsenical bronze.
I gather you are interested in a fixed blade of some kind?
There are definitely some cool all-brass Filipino handmade balisongs around, bronze I havent seen. As far as Ancient Greece style, you'll probably find mostly display quality "fantasy" blades unless you ask someone to make a custom. Bronze is obviously inferior to steel in terms of cutlery perfomance, but it's more corrosion resistant.
The brass balisong I handled had a useable edge but would lose it very fast.
