I just finished this one this morning. What do you all think?
I made no effort to make it historically accurate, so any resemblance to real swords, past or present, is entirely coincidental.

The blade is aluminum bronze, the pins are bronze, and the handle scales are camel bone. The whole thing weighs 45.7 oz.
Total length is about 29".

Thanks for looking,
Phillip

BTW, this one is not for sale. It's a gift for a friend of mine.

Okay now that is just freaking cool. I really like the finish you got on the blade and the choice of camel bone. Very classy and a great size!

Ok... maybe it is not historically accurate or resemble any
'real' swords past or present, but I think that if they put that in Achilles' hand
in the Troy movie... Bang! All of the attention would have been focused on that
sword. Very cool.

As you say it doesn't resemble anything historical except in the very most general sense... but wow that is nice, you may be making your own history right now. :) It's a really beautiful piece congratulations. How did you make it? Stock removal?

I think he forged it. The details are in another thread in the maker's section or the shop talk section.

Sweet. I think I saw that over on swordforum as well. That has to be the best looking sword I have ever seen. And I mean that litterally.
