Hello!

IIRC the MAXX has nylatron or other plastic washers. Has anyone tried to replace them with the phosphor bronze washers or the like? If so, would you be kind enough to share the source for your washers?

This will be the first mod that I do on a new MAXX.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I tried to do this. I picked up some plain bronze washers at Lowes/Home Depot, can't remember which, brought them home and set to work. The washers I got were the thinnest they had but they were still thicker than the teflon washers that come with the MAXX. I used some sand paper on a flat board and set to work thinning down the washers. I was able to get them to the desired thickness and miked them along the way just to be sure. I reassembled the Maxx and for the life of me could not get the blade to center within the handle as it did with the teflon washers. Not sure what the problem was so I put the teflon washers back and went on about my buisness. I'm sure I will try it again at some other time but the blade locks up rock solid with no movement whatsoever and the action is slick as can be. Guess if it ain't broke I don't need to "fix" it!
