Bronze Washers

I'very got a 5.11 Tarani Karambit with the SV30 that I've added a wave to. I love the knife except it is too stiff. I've opened it plenty of times to be broke in. I've adjusted the tention bar and oiled it. It has nylon washers. Would bronze washers help smooth it out and if so what size would I need to get?

Thanks in advance,

That knife is a lockback, correct? If so, there isn't much in terms of options to ease opening without actually modifying the knife. Best I can think of is hit or miss, and that is to leave the knife partially opened (in a safe place, no need to get poked by an open knife) for a few days and hope that wears in the tension bar on the lock.

If it is a liner lock, your options are far more plentiful. It could be the detent needing some more wear, it could be high lock bar pressure that you can alleviate by taking it apart and bending it a small amount, or the detent track could use some polishing.

Thanks for the reply. Here's what I'm working with. I have bent the tension bar and polished up everything that seems to make contact. The washers are thinner than a piece of paper so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Nylon washers tend to be pretty slick. I doubt they're the culprit. Like my friend mentioned above, lockbacks are just not as smooth as others.

The only things I can suggest are to play with the blade and the lockbar pivot screws to see if that helps any or bend the torsion bar a bit more.

OK. Thanks.
