I want to EDC my Buck Ranger Skinner because I like the blade and the blade is rather small ( 3" Drop point blade )

I don't hunt and I have never had any prior convictions of any kind. I'm 21 and I do not like NY state vague knife laws.

The only other knife I could EDC would be the Spyderco Schempp Bowie.. which I don't want to even try to EDC that. Anyone knowledgeable with this specific county? I plan to apply for a pistol carry permit too at some point.

Would you say the skinner is inappropriate for an EDC in NY? I really like how the blade looks and I don't care if it was a skinner or not. I just want to EDC a real knife until the tiny pathetic non lockers. I read the NY laws and I don't really get them as they seem to leave it up to the judgment of the police officer. Many of them seem to be fairly dumb in my area so leaving it up to their judgment is rather ridiculous.

NY.. the state that is too liberal to allow you to have a Gun without jumping through hoops, and the state that is too conservative to let you smoke pot without locking you in a cage. The state with the highest taxes in the united states. Unfortunately it is my home

Move. Why stay? I lived there a short time (in Broome County) beautiful area great fishing but expensive place to live. Nor for me. MOVE.

It should be fine. I live in Monroe County - all I carry these days are smaller fixed blade 4" or less, though the law outside of NYC does not spec a legal blade length. I limit the size for convenience, not legality. As long as the back edge isn't sharp you should be fine. Is perfectly legal to conceal or carry open. It might not be terribly common, but I do see folks EDUing belt knives and is perfectly legal.
