I posted a couple of photos elsewhere in a thread about frame construction since this is missing the grips and the frame is wide open.

I got this from an estate where there were several other blades, mostly late 19th and early 20th century things, plus a WWII Japanese bayonet. I tried to look this up before i bought it, but if you've ever Googled "Broomhead & Thomas" you know there's not much out there. So I told the seller I'd roll the dice and buy it if the price was right.

Based on the little I have been able to find, I presume this dates from the 1835-1840 period, but I may be off on that, so any opinions are more than welcomed. There was no original scabbard, but someone made one just to keep the blade protected.

Check out Bernard Levines sub forum here on BF. I'm sure he could give you a hand on this one.

I did post it there this morning: I didn't spend a lot of money on this at all: it was an inexpensive roll of the dice.
