Brotherhood of the Laguiole

A forum has to have new posts daily to be viable. People are oriented to a daily schedule for habits ... ever try to form a habit of doing something once every 5 days? People check a forum for new posts every day, and if they don't find any most of the time they get out of the habit, and the people who get out of the habit of going to the forum regularly don't do a lot of posting either ... it's a death spiral.

People are always telling us split the forum first and the posts will come, but it doesn't work that way. We have experience with this....

When we start getting new posts on laguioles daily then we can start thinking about splitting off that topic from the general forum. In the meantime you can do a search for new posts almost as easily as going to a separate forum -- and come back to Bladeforums Service & Support when you've been finding new posts every day for a while. It'll come, as Bladeforums keeps expanding we have to keep splitting up into more and smaller forums ... but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. :)

P.S. Start a thread on Laguioles in Blade Discussion and see how long you can keep it active. It's just as easy to bookmark a thread as to bookmark a forum.... :)

Laguiole fans would be very welcome in the traditional forum also.

I am letting my ignorence show threw more than normal, but what is a Laguiole?

It soulds like it should be served in a red sauce with shrimp on the side:D

Just Google the name:thumbup:

Ok I see it is a french company. A French maker of traditional handmade Laguiole knives, corkscrews, flatware, and garden tools.

I also saw something about a style of pocket knives.

Micky,
Here's a Laguiole. Not a traditional laguiole, but made by a Laguiole co Fontenille Pataud, just the same.

I'll tell you, I really like those laguioles. I have always been a fool over Case, Queen, etc... But my wife bought me a laguiole for Christmas a couple of years ago, I really took to them. Blades are a little softer than I like but that's OK, they are easier to sharpen. If I didn't always have my Sebenza on me I'd carry a laguiole. I have carried them around people before and got very positive reactions, " wow, that thing is beautiful!" "I've never seen a knife like that before" Kinda feels good to hear that!
