I tried doing some research on this knife and found relatively few reviews. I'm interested in knowing if anyone here has/had one and what your thoughts are regarding overall build quality, D2 steel, long term durability, comparison to knives of similar cost (ZT0560 or 801), etc.

Thanks in advance.

BF member Rolex John did this review. Met up with him and played with the T4 and all I have to say it that it is a pretty sweet knife. It's incredibly solid and much smaller than I expected with a fantastic action. The only negative I would see is the insanely grippy texturing on the G10 will eat pockets (mind you this is from handling the T4 over lunch). Same D2 Jason uses on everything. The Bionic and MD I have get incredibly sharp and I have yet to see rust or chipping/ rolling from normal use.

Thanks...that's one of the few good reviews that I did find. I've heard that Brous does a great job with D2. Overall, the T4 does seem to be a solid / durable and well made knife for the money.

For under $300 it would be hard to find a better flipper. The action is great, it's just a hair short as far as grip is concerned and tends to bite my forefinger where the flipper acts as a finger guard but I have a wide hand. The pocket clip will in fact eat your pants and I find it the most bothersome and negative thing about the knife. I have the cerakote version and although I give Jason props for coating the entire knife, hardware and all, the blade stop will start to chip immediately upon use. Also the relief for the blade stop on the blade itself. Other than that it's a very sturdy built knife and the blade is thick from tang to tip. Great knife. Get one if you want an outstanding value flipper under $300.

I like mine. Probably not enough to keep it forever but rarely does that ever happen with me. It think for a USA made flipper with bearings its a great knife in the sub $300 mark. I think jason needs to work on his satin finishes a bit but the example I have of the T4 is one of the fastest and smoothest flippers I have had. The ergonomics are great as well. I think the only thing I would say it lacks is refinement. Some knives the finish detail is flawless. Jasons knives I wouldnt say rough around the edges but they are no art knives if you understand. They have an industrial finish to them. Its very hard to explain. Put it this way both a 0560 and a T4 are great knives. But the T4 just begs to be used. I also love that the T4 has steel liners. Its built to last.

How rough is the fit / finish? For $260 I would expect a fairly refined knife. Anyone selling these for less than retail?

My example has a few issues with the blade. All of them being with the consistency of the satin finish. Its very hard to explain without you seeing it. In some spots on the blade it looks like someone rubbed the blade with a scotchbrite pad to remove scratches. Its only visible at certain angles in good lighting. If you get one I would recommend a stonewash, acid wash or DLC blade. The rest of the knife is great.

Good to know but a little disappointing since I really like the look of the satin blade. DLC would be my second on my list. Any recommendations regarding where to buy (preferably below list price)?

Shoot me an email. I may be able to point you in the right direction.

The cerakote versions are very nicely executed with the exception of the blade stop chipping due to impact.

The Brous Blades T4 is the smoothest flipper I have from Brous and that includes Division, Reloader and Bionic. The contoured G-10 is very comfortable and the D2 satin blade sharp and flawless. For a 4" heavy blade it flips better than anything comparable.

Any opinions regarding how the T4 stacks up against the ZT0560/801 with respect to durability, etc.?

They're all great with ZT 0801 and T4 personally having the better flipper action.

Actually, you have a choice of blade lengths as well: 0801 (3.5"), 0560 (3.75") and T4 (4").

AJR576, did you decide to purchase a T4? I have had mine for about 2 weeks and have put it through its paces, got to say it is a very nice knife for its price point. The satin finish is absolutely flawless, the fit and finish is superb. Jason has mastered the bearing flipper and it fires out better than some assisted opening knives. The large 4 inch blade does not seem that big nestled in the stainless steel liners and G10. For a sub $300 knife I think its a bargain and it's Made in the USA.

Could you comment on how it does cutting through various materials? I love the look of the blade but I was a little astounded when I read that the blade is 3/16" thick... that seemed crazy to me since the whole of that thickness has to follow the cutting edge through whatever your cutting. Can you comment on any experience you've had with this?

Thanks.
