Browing stag handle folder question/recommendation?

Hey guys,

I saw this one the other day and it looks pretty. The steel's AUS8 and made in Japan (I don't know if the whole thing is, or just the blade).

It's not going to replace my small classic as an EDC, but can anyone vouch for it's quality, or for Browning's knives in general. My initial guess is that they're not very good but man it just looked so nice.

Any suggestions for a sub-3" blade with stag handles other than this? Nice classy folder, well made?

Thanks very much for your help and time.

Some of Browning's knives are very good quality, others are mediocre. I have an old Browning Ice Storm made in Japan, that for the money, is one of the nicer tactical folders I own.

If the folder you link to is made in Seki City, Japan, it's probably very well made.

thx - cpr

Yes, their Japanese contracted lines are very well made. For whatever reason, their knives haven't really caught on with many knife buyers, but their high-end models do not lack in quality.

Moki looks like it might be the contractor for those, by the way. They also make nice dressy folders.

I have several in various handle materials and I love them! Great fit and finish, tight lockup. Just the right size for most chores and fits the pocket of jeans as well as a suit.
