Brown/Black Skyline "flipyness" vs Black with polished blade "Flipyness"

Just received my brown scales with black blade skyline and a black scales with regular uncoated blade skyline. I notice a distinct difference in deployment. You just think of flipping the black/silver and it out and locked. The brown/black from the sprint run has lots of drag and takes a big effort with your index finger followed with a wrist flip to deploy the blade. Is it normal for individual examples of the skyline to vary in the deployment this much? I did use my torx driver to try varying amounts of tightness of the pivot bolt and the tension on the bolt does not seem to make a big difference in this issue. I find myself wondering if the coating on the black blade is causing the drag.

It's inherent on all the brown scale skylines. I have 3 of them and they all have the drag from the black coating. My plain blade skylines are nice and smooth.

My Black and Tan(Skyline) flips out fine. It does take a faster finger, but I can do it without any wrist action.

The satin Skylines are smoother for sure.

It will break in, no doubt.

I have been having fun flippin' the black one. Now I have an excuse to flip, flip, flip................. the brown one. Gotta break in the coating.

Couple of drops of my break free CLP from my gun cleaning supplies on the pivot area and now its much better. Still not the same class as the satin but quite acceptable.

Odd, my brown/black one flips much better than my orange/silver or my black/silver ones.
